Report
on game against Kingsway on 12th May Strathearn
won the toss and inserted Kingsway on an excellent batting wicket at Doo’cot.
Openers Greg Thomson and. Scott Walker made an untroubled start to the match
as they took the score along comfortably to 35 after 10 overs as the Strathie
openers were withdrawn from the attack. The
introduction of Craig Oswald had an immediate effect as he removed Thomson
with his third ball. Soon after he removed Walker for 22 to leave Kingsway
47-4 and struggling. The lower order made some useful contributions but
could only take the score to 83 before the final wicket fell. Oswald was the pick of the bowling with
4-21, whilst Ian Pattullo gave sterling support with 3-23 from 12 overs. In reply,
Strathie lost opener David Duncan to his first ball but made light of this
setback to proceed positively to their target. Despite one or two scarey
moments, the target of 84 was reached in the 17th over without further loss,
Gordon McKennie (42) and Jonathan Hill (40) the not out batsmen. |
